Plant population = area in square metres ÷ plant geometry (row spacing × plant spacing).
Corrected seeds needed = target population ÷ (germination fraction × purity fraction).
Seed quantity (kg) = corrected seeds × (1000-seed weight in g ÷ 1000) ÷ 1000.
